The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

Brian Byrne, 58, was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Child Sex Offender Residing 500’ and Violation Of Sex Offender Registration.
12/13/24 at 3:22 p.m.
Merrill Hadley, 69, of Herrick was going West near 2340 E 100 North RD when the driver had a medical issue and left the roadway to the right, striking a chain-link fence and steel post.
12/13/24 at 6:33 a.m.
Richard Stephens, 63, of Taylorville was traveling East on Lincoln Trail when a deer entered the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid the deer and made contact with the front end of the vehicle.
12/14/24 at 5:50 p.m.
Richard Smith, 63, of Morrisonville was turning left into a parking lot at the location of 100 Southeast 6th St in Morrison and maneuvered the left turn and collided into the concrete embankment.

A Juvenile Male, age 13, of Taylorville, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct and Aggravated Assault.

Kevin M. Swinburne, age 45, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Burglary Tools.

Brian K. Byrne, age 58, of Taylorville, was arrested for Violation of Sex Offender Registration.
On December 3rd, 2024, TPD responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Vine St. and Webster St. in Taylorville around 4 P.M. When police arrived on the scene, both Megan N. Middleton of Pana and Shirley J. Adams of Taylorville were able to drive off of the roadway to allow traffic to flow freely. Middleton stated that a third vehicle pulled out in front of Adams, causing Adams to slow down, and Middleton stated they did not have time to react.Adams’ vehicle received minor scratches to the rear bumper, and Middleton’s vehicle received minor scratches to the front bumper.
On December 6th around 2 PM at the intersection of Gray Lane and Park Avenue in Taylorville. Seymone A. Pelichoff backed out of a driveway and into the lane of Alicia J. Kee, who was traveling westbound. Kee told authorities she had the right of way when Pelichoff failed to yield. Pelichoff stated they did not see Kee's vehicle. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, and Kee sustained a facial laceration. She was evaluated by medical professionals at the scene and transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by the Taylorville Fire Department for further treatment. Kee’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Pelichoff received two citations related to the accident.
