Unit 1 advised that Unit 2 backed into her vehicle while she was waiting inside her vehicle. Information was taken at the scene, I then contacted Jacksonville PD to make contact with the owner of Unit 2 to contact our PD. On October 16th, 2024, the driver of Unit 2 called to advise Unit 1 began to start road rage in the town of Berry on Route 29. Unit 2 advised Unit 1 to keep passing his vehicle and then brake-checked him over four times. Unit 2 advised he drove around Taylorville waiting for Unit 1 to back off from the incident. Unit 2 then informed me at the intersection of West Main Cross and South Shumway Street, Unit 1 passed his vehicle and then slammed on the brakes causing both vehicles to tap each other. Unit 2 advised he had a small scratch on the front bumper of the vehicle. Unit 1 then left the scene of the accident and proceeded to Wendy's where Taylorville PD was called for a hit-and-run. Unit 2 advised his girlfriend was in the vehicle and could verify what all occurred from Berry. I was also informed by Unit 2 that there was a garage sale on the corner of Shumway and Main Cross who witnessed the traffic accident. I checked at the residence at 700 West Main Cross to see if they witnessed any traffic crashes. I was informed by the homeowner the family that was there for yard sale, did witness a female driver take off from the scene. Due to the witnesses, the crash report was changed for who was Unit 1 and 2 and the location of the accident. And the report was changed from hit and run to road rage incident.
